In Our Nature
Why do we feel so overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected and lost...and what does that have to do with what's happening on our planet?
This show explores the hidden connections and deeper patterns that are forming our inner struggles and the wider crises unfolding around us. From mental health to ecological collapse, productivity culture to planetary grief, from burnout to reconnection, join me to poke around in the stories, systems and patterns shaping this extraordinary time...
...and then let's riff on what becomes possible when we stop pretending it’s fine and feel the feels.
Your host is me: Siobhán Friel. I'm a mental health practitioner, a Work That Reconnects facilitator and I was probably a lavender plant in a past life.
This podcast offers a way to make sense of your inner and outer world, especially if you were shaped by capitalism (like me) and not by a lineage of ecological literacy, love and wisdom.
You haven't missed the boat. There are many boats and this is one. Get in.

"You Have an Intuitive Knowing That Helps You Navigate Life” with Dicken Bettinger
I was incredibly honoured to have Dicken Bettinger as my special guest on the podcast. Dicken is an author, mentor, speaker, guide, and board member of the 3PGC.
He was mentored directly by Sydney Banks - who first articulated the understanding of who we really are and how we experience life known as the Three Principles - and Dicken has been helping people across the world rediscover their innate wellbeing ever since.
Please join us to explore:
- What innate psychological wellbeing is, and how we all have it
- How the paradigm around our psychological understanding is changing (in a great and hopeful way)
- The power of quieting down
- The intuitive knowing that we all have to help us navigate life
- The field of infinite intelligence that we are all connected to, and how to see this for ourselves
- What low moods are telling us
- How we are taken care of when a bad thing happens in life
- ...and so much other amazing wisdom and stories.
Dicken also answers a listener question about the sense of 'something being missing'.
You can find Dicken on his website, and his amazing Youtube channel jam-packed full of incredible talks. I highly recommend Dicken's book, Coming Home, which he co-wrote with the lovely Natasha Swerdloff. Please ask your favourite independent bookstore for a copy.
